ABOUT THE SESSIONS
Each block takes inspiration from a variety of artists and mediums. They are as varied as possible enabling the children to explore different ways of working from painting, to textiles, to collage and more! We work large scale on the floor or small at the tables. The sessions are really informal, we set a theme but then go with the flow :)
DURING THE SESSIONS
13/04 – Junkyard Creatures
We’ll have fun rummaging through lots of materials to create mythical puppets AND I’ll need all your help to build a giant junk dragon to display at Eco Fest on 10th May, inspired by Edgar Phillips’ colourful dragon sculpture.
20/04 – Beyond the Frame
We’ll take inspiration from famous artworks and artists and reimagine them in our own way using all sorts of unusual tools to paint with. Have a think about a masterpiece you’d love to remix!
11/05 – Mini Reporters
We'll create our very own newspapers using drawing, collage, and storytelling, from breaking news to silly stories. We’ll take inspo from the Hertford Quarter which I designed in collaboration with George Ezra. Have a think about what you’d include in your newspaper!
18/05 – Wild Wind Chimes
Inspired by the work of César Manrique, we’ll create colourful wind chimes using natural and recycled materials. We’ll explore colour, movement, and sound while celebrating World Bee Day and the beauty of the natural world.
